(PRWeb) Jan 9th – Paulson Management Group, Inc. is launching a case study that showcases an overall 600% boost in affiliate banner impressions for one of their clients, evident only four months after PMG took over the management of the affiliate program.
The data collected shows a steady trend of 250,000 to 350,000 banner impressions from December 2008 through August 2009. Paulson Management Group, Inc. took over management of the client's affiliate program in August of 2009, and developed a media strategy which included immediately replacing all banners and text links for the affiliate program. PMG also added an affiliate video to the affiliate programs media lineup and integrated the affiliate video into the affiliate network. As quickly as September 2009, one month later, positive growth was evident with a 400% increase in affiliate banner impressions to almost 1,250,000. By December 2009, the number of affiliate banner impressions had jumped to over 1,750,000 impressions, reflecting an overall 600% increase in impressions within 4 months. Affiliate banners are not the only ingredient to a successful affiliate program, but they are an important one, and Paulson Management Group, Inc. has developed guidelines that ensure a affiliate banner is fulfilling its maximum potential. As a starting point, a ffiliate banners should have a uniform brand presence and/or theme. Design elements should be tested to find what works for that specific product and vertical mix, and should be continually tested and monitored.
Affiliate banners work best when they convey an offer statement to the consumer. Banners that offer a percentage off of a purchase, free shipping, or incentivize the purchase with some other offer are most attractive to affiliates, and tend to convert better than banners that simply feature a brand logo and product photo.
A call to action such as “Click Here” or “Buy Now” is important also, however, and a vital part of any effectively converting banner. It's also important to understand what an ad serving domain is, and how adblockers work. Without this basic understanding, merchants run the risk banners never being seen by a significant portion of their potential audience.
Another important ingredient to successfully converting media is affiliate relationships. After taking over the affiliate program in August 2009 and changing out all media, Paulson Management Group also stepped up their affiliate relations campaign to entice existing affiliates to perform more, and recruit new affiliates into the program. It is the affiliates who get program banners in front of potential consumers, so if affiliate relationships suffer, the whole program suffers.
